ONE PAIR OF LUCKY KATANA ICE AXES MADE BY VAUDE. The VAUDE LUCKY KATANA was designed and developed especially for competition climbing and dry tooling, the KATANA is a radical change from conventional ice axe design. Built without using tubular material, high power lasers cut the shaft from 6mm aluminium sheets. This innovative process achieves a compact and lightweight design. To this day, no other ice axe available has offered such high precision and torsion resistance, while remaining balanced during swing and virtually without any vibration. While most of the weight is centered in its head, the ratio of weight to length is sheer perfect: even the most demanding routes become a walk in the park with this high-tech tool. The blow comes from the shoulder and the replaceable, laser-cut pick displaces less ice than conventional picks, it penetrates hardest ice with ease and precision. The KATANA is CE-tested according to EN 13089 (5.3.4, 5.3.6, 5.3.7), and comes delivered with a movable finger hook for added grip and the Extrem wrist loop attached with special biner.
